I built a gaming pc that will be done tonight basically just for skyrim and I'm wondering if you guys think it'll go on sale anytime soon. If it has a chance to get cheaper during the holiday sale I'll wait since I have the ps3 version on rent ATM. If not...well, I guess I'll get it lol.

Doubt it, the game is doing too well and it's probably going to hold it's sale value until DLCs and Mods start rolling out.

Just a rental. I'll buy it anyway. :) Pretty excited. All versions are steam versions right? If I buy a physical copy, if it's a steamworks game, can I download it as much as I want?

It's not even showing up on Amazon's 2011 best sellers list, which is confusing. I've been waiting for a sale on it myself. :(

Maybe during Steam's holidays sales?

Who knows. I doubt it though.

Who knows, all I know is it has been in the top 1-3 spots on the Steam Top Seller list since it came out, even during the Autumn sale is still stayed in the top 3 selling strong. Best bet to finding it cheaper than $60 is finding it on sale in a store as I doubt we will see it on sale on Steam at all this year and for awhile into next.

Well worth the $60, hell, i'd have paid $80 for it. The game did not disappoint in anyways, even with the random CTDs.

My guess is they may have a Xmas sale of $10 off but thats probably the best, if any, we will see. As said above the sales have been strong despite bugs and CTD issues so they do not need to lower the price yet to attract more buyers. Supposedly it sold 7 million copies in the first week so thats pretty good for a pc game.

Best price I've seen is on greenmangaming.com

Good site. I got it when it was a couple bucks cheaper than the current $54. I just put my key in steam and it worked fine.

I think I read Skyrim sold 3.5 million copies in 48 hours. It's selling nicely.

PS3 version was just on buy 1 get 1 50% off sale...

I won't expect it to go on sales for the next few months. Especially not when it's still selling like hot cakes at this time.

You may see some deals for a few bucks off - or "buy one game at full price, get one at half-price."

I wouldn't count on any major discounts about now....

Steam's current price is $90AUD, with Batman at an absurd $100, but I won't spend more than $60 for it.
I wonder how many sales they're losing due to these blatant rip offs.

It's not a blatant ripoff. They sell to different types of customers - first those that will pay more, then those who won't. Millions don't feel it's a 'ripoff'. They like a good game.

More like there's millions of suckers.
In any given PC game thread at say OCAU, the bulk of chit chat is "price" related, IOW, most of the members of that forum won't be ripped off.

I know a proper PC patch is on the way, so I might wait for that....at least with games like FO3-Skyrim, you get terrific playtime, so that helps with swallowing the cost, but it's one thing to pay top dollar for a fully working game, and quite another to pay/play as beta tester.
