i currently running a 1.2ghz amd 266 with asus a7m266 motherboard. it is great. no problem
whatsoever. I have absolute no problem. Now my dad wants a new pc, he still using that 166
that i left for him when i went to college. since i am out right now i want to build a new pc for him.
he only use it for some works, so no need to cutting edge that bad.
what i planned was bought a 1.4ghz amd 266 to go with my asus a7m266, and
get a ecs k7s5a to go with my 1.2ghz. i bought a new 400 psu for myself,
and going to give the case i have now, a 300 one to go with that 1.2ghz.
But what scare me is from reading here seems a lot people have
trouble with the k7s5a and i am not great with motherboards.
Seems a lot problem are with 1.4ghz, seems like power problem a lot.
i just wonder if 1.2ghz will be less problem for me. just wonder.
since i typied here anyway, one more question:
right now my cpu's temp is around 51-53 when fully used(3d gaming),
under 49 when doing work, is this too hot? i remember my old
350, if temp goes over 50 mother board will scream. i just wonder
if it is already too hot. my case temp under 37 most time.
thanks guys for helping me out, this is a great place
