Yep, I'm shopping for one. Finally sold my original DAoC account for a hefty chunk 'o change, and get to by something to immortalize the kids with. Yay. Gotta love my wife.

Anyway, my pricerange is $200-$300ish - which puts me pretty much square in the 2 megapixel range it seems, minus alot of bells and whistles. I'm pretty much looking for something autofocusey (not fixed), preferably optical zoom for the low pixel range, and I could care less about digital zoom.

I'm just looking for something that's going to have nice pictures. Not really any preference on memory type - I like smartmedia, but CF or whatever... it's all good.

Have at it, throw some suggestions my way and I'll sort em all out in the end.

PS - If you know where to find a GOOD deal on said camera(s) - linkify me.
 
make sure u plan on accesories also...when I purchased a new cam, cam was $150 and accesories were close in price ($79 for SD card, $79 for docking cradle)
 
IMHO CF > xD > SM > MMC but that's just me

The Canon PowerShot A40 is great but until OfficeMax.com gets it back in stock, the Hot Deals are few and far in between (is that how the saying is???)

yeah they had to order my A40 from onother store. It took 2 weeks for them to get it for me. But i did get in on the deal they had. a free high speed 64meg CF card and the camera for $250
