LOL, I remember reading a news story back in 1994 about how experts predicted that with such exponential growth, the Internet would "collapse under its own weight" by 1996. :roll:

And that's when tons of fiber was being laid. Lots of that fiber is still dark because it wasn't needed and newer technologies could fit more data onto a single pair of fibers.

That's crap. I work in the industry- they're basing their "prediction" on if we don't expand anything we have now. Carriers are expanding their network constantly. If you can't handle existing customers, you won't get any new ones.

We're not running out of bandwidth. If anything, we're going to have more available to more areas soon.
