What about the movie "THE PUNISHER"?

The tagline for the movie is "The punishment begins..."

For who? The audience?

Finally a worthy challenger to the throne of Best Movie of All Time, where Cool As Ice currently resides!

Take the movie Breakin' (or Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo) and strip it down, modernize it and call it Hip Hop... it's been done before.

Nah. I don't associate with any of the bboys in the film anymore, and am not as active in the scene as I used to be. I think I grew out of it, although I still like hip hop and appreciate watching a good dancer (breaker, house dancer, popper, locker, tap dancer, whatever).

No breakdancing movie would be complete without a dance sequence featuring two studly men dancing shirtless in a back alley somewhere during a rainstorm.

I see this one isn't lacking. :)

Sometimes, people still "battle" it out on the dancefloor to settle beef. I guess it's a good way to squash things if both parties agree to it... a peaceful resolution.

Most bboys/bgirls will be boycotting the film.

as opposed to pulling a pistol or fistfights, that is preferable
but i just dont understand why there are so many of these movies coming out.

Commercialized "hip hop" is pretty marketable nowadays. Hence, the McD's commercials, "Flava" dolls for little girls, etc. etc. Trends cycle time and time again, and hiphop/breaking/etc. is "in" again. Has been for awhile, with Eminem, etc. etc.

I don't care what others say, I always enjoy watching some good bboys...we had a few of my friends battle during our Lunar celebration on Saturday, heh. Although, I can't say that I'll necessarily be paying for this movie...

Maybe a dumb question, but what does BBoy stand for? Does it mean something? Is it short for Breakdancing Boy?
