Just saw it at an advanced screening. Goes deeply into the financial ties between all things Bush and the Saudis that helped back Al Queda. A lot of pro-infantry, anti-war sentiment (though I don't see how it's possible for someone to love the soldiers but be against the war they fight). Interesting film overall and very Anti-Bush and not just G.W himself but his entire organization. I'd say it was worth my time and to be honest, it makes me want to get into politics just so I can point a finger at american politicians a little more firmly.

Yes. I think I have plans to see it this weekend. Of course, I think I may be disowned for seeing it.

i dont want to get too off-topic but i would be interested to hear why you find it difficult (or at least, counter-intuitive) to be for soldiers/against war.
im asking becuase that seems to be an area of contempt between a lot of people. they seem to have trouble understanding what you have said you are having trouble with and it makes (in my experience) military people automatically defensive toward people who do not fully support this war.

Yep. Didn't think much of Columbine, but I think Moore may have taken it's criticism to heart when doing 911. Also, this topic is F'ed up enough that Moore shouldn't have to resort to such *ahem* creative license as he has used in the past. Politics aside, the fact that it won at Canne is enough to make me want to see it. And now the Republicans are trying to get the movie pulled before the elections. Yeah, everyone needs to see this movie I think. :D

I certainly don't see it as contradictory. It's like if you respect and support the employees of a company but don't agree with where the company is going (in terms of upper management decisions or what-not)

What I was trying to say (in a nice way i geuss, it was very late) was that I can't condone any military personel that sign up to fight knowing what they'll be doing if they're shipped over seas. A lot of people will completely bad mouth the american government for how they are running the war in Iraq and for the thousands of innocents that were killed, but the second you bring up the fact that it was american soldiers that did it, then their response is usally "The were just following orders. What did you expect them to do, refuse?" I feel everyone should be held accountable.

One thing I'm hearing a lot though, is that many returning soldiers have vowed to never return to Iraq, even if it means jail time. I geuss people can learn from their mistakes.
