AT&T is pretty much what's been tying it up. Cell providers in other countries do things that AT&T won't, such as tethering at no additional charge.

You can enable FaceTime over 3G if you jailbreak. Supposedly eats up 3mb per minute. That means a bit rate of 409kbps.

Facetime is the new Nextel direct connect (push-to-talk)...When that first came out that annoying chirp and then some idiot talking loudly into his phone, then hearing everything the other person said in one loud, annoying stupid conversation...now I see people with their ip4's doing the same annoying, loud, hear you whole conversation crap on facetime. At least it's limited to wifi areas for now. My brother was using facetime at a recent family dinner...was so annoying!
