What a dismal display. The GOP could have crafted legislation that said anything they wanted, and they end up submitting a bill that lowers the deficit by less than the Democrats one. No wonder they keep yammering about the Dem bill being 2,000 pages long, their bill is 10x short and accomplishes significantly less. This also explains why they removed elimination of pre-existing conditions from their bill and their tax credits for individuals on the private market: they couldn't find a way to pay for it.
Cliffs:
Total insurance enrollment after 8 years: unchanged.
Total savings off deficit: $40 billion less than Dems bills over first 10 years. Basically no savings after that.
However, they did save the American tax payer roughly $10 on paper.
I suppose to the crazies here will now state the CBO isn't a reliable source (despite them citing the CBO in June, don't make me use that new search feature....
