You get stuck in the bathroom at work...

You are locked in a bathroom stall at work. What is your reaction?

  • Livid, calling out, and beating on the door trying to get out

  • Quietly trying to pry the door open while laughing about how silly the situation is

  • Other, I'll comment in a post

because the door jams and you have to call for help to get out. There is no other way out, like crawling out under the door either.

Does this ruin your day, piss you off royally OR do you just shake it off and find the humor in it?

What good will it do to walk around all p!ssed off?

I nearly broke my tail bone once goofing off, nearly had to go to the hospital. I still laugh about it.

Wait so what did you do to the door that it worked just fine when you entered but was jammed when you tried to leave?

That is such thing as being to rough. :p

I always carry tools that could get me out of that situation. To play along though, I'd laugh. It's not a big deal :^)

Bust out my Leatherman and break/disassemble the lock and/or door. Laugh in the moment, laugh and brag later.

This actually isn't about me. A friend of mine got stuck in the bathroom at his work today. He texted me from there and he was livid about it. He was stuck in there for a few minutes until he got the door to open. It totally ruined his day. He could not get over it. I thought it was sorta funny. :D

The second. If I was in there long enough I would call my work and say, "Yo, I am in the bathroom... Door is stuck. Any chance you could help a bro out?"

I'd probably wait for 4-5 hours, then call, then pretend to be embarrassed after taking a nice nap.

LOL wow, so how did he manage that one?

Only time I've managed that was in an old house where I was worried about breaking the door cause it jammed, erm though being being a little drunk at the time probably didn't help. :(

I'd probably text a friend telling them to call the front desk and tell them something was stuck in the toilet and they should check it out, then I'd play Tetris until I was found.

Depends on factors.

If I was just at work and not supposed to be anywhere right then and there like say a meeting or leaving for the day to go pick my kid up from daycare then I'd not get worked up about it.

But if something like the situation above was the case I might be a bit annoyed in the moment but nothing beyond that.

TL;DR - Don't we all have smart phones? E-mail your boss/building/whatever and surf away until you are rescued.

It would depend somewhat on how much urine is on the floor.

Edit: Oh, I misread the OP, I saw something about crawling out.

If there's no way to get out, well, I guess wait until I can hear someone outside - or else look around for tools to try to get out myself.

This happened to my boss last Summer. It was the end of the day and the bathroom door lock busted and wouldn't open. Everyone left. When she didn't come home, her husband called an employee who lived near the office to go see if she was still there as she wasn't answering her cell phone. He went to the office and saw her car in the lot so went into the building. She heard him and started yelling and banging. He had to drill out the lock to get the door open. She had been trapped for five hours. We asked her why she didn't just crawl out under the stall*.

*Just kidding, the door was heavy steel.

Basic Physics does wonders to fix stuck things.

I would think it is pretty funny, but I'd also be embarrassed and try to do it in a way people don't notice I'm stuck.

This reminds me of the time when I was doing level 2 work at the hospital, and I almost got myself locked in the mental health department. That's always the big joke, whenever someone goes there "be careful they don't keep you!". Here I am stuck in a stairwell because all the doors locked. The only reason I got out was that one door did not click properly so I was able to pull it open. I had my wireless phone on my so I could of called security, but it would of been kinda embarrassing, and funny at the same time.

Personal experience OP?

I don't even think the door on our bathroom at work does close all the way!
