everything, it all costs so damn much :(

Probably the k6-2 266->300, lack of support... but i got it coming from a dx2-50 :)

And disappointed in the performance of maxtor RAID... if i didn't try that, i would still have my 27 GB'r i snagged from VA :p now running 20GB on a IBM, so only a 7GB loss.

Before I was AnandTech-aware, my first attempt at building a system had a Celeron 333. The 300A & 333 came out at roughly the same time. If I had only known, ... Since then, I've gone 300A->450, 366->550, and now 633->950. Surprisingly, I've paid less for each new chip.

The MediaVision Pro Audio Spectrum 16 was a pretty nifty card; I couldn't afford anything else at the time so when I got it as a gift it was great!

the loudness of my retail Slot A classic fan - I didn't realize computers could be so loud, after owning two Dell's which were both quiet

Sorry Snow Patrol :) But I have to say my AX63 Pro Board is one of the best Boards Ive ever owned. I've had my P3-550E up to 825 MHZ. But the ram wouldnt hold at 155FSB! Anyways its running now at 770MHZ@ 140FSB. I think they just had a bad batch go out and it just so happens, more bad then good it seems. But I seem to of got a good one. A friend of mine bought one and couldnt O/C worth Sh@t on it! My lot number on my board was just so happens one of the good ones had had no known problems and supported coppermines much better then some of the others AX 63 Pro's. I think they really dropped the ball on this board and could of made ALOT more money if they would of had there sh@t together. :) If I had another chance I would like to have a BX Master I think its called from MSI.

Anyways my HW disappointment Voodoo 3-3500. Nice card but every driver that came out sucked! But still gets the job done.

last year going from my P2-333 to a P3-700.. certainly wasn't what I expected...

Funny.. Cuz going from a P3-700 to a 1.2ghz t-bird is a much more noticable jump :)

Without a doubt my worst decision was buying the supermicro 760a. Not because the case is bad, ( it is the most kick ass case in its pricerange) but i don't need a case that big at all. If i could do it all over again i would have bought a much smaller case.

Mine was upgrading from a MX300 -> SB Live! platinum. Sometimes the old card was better.

Echoing Erasmus-X, I had a 386-16 in 1988 with 1mb. Upgraded to 4mb for a mere $300, trying not to bend any of pins while doing it. Nada, except bragging rights, which were nil.

upgrading my k6-2 350@450 w/ voodoo banshee to a k2-3 450 w/ xentor tnt2 ultra (175mhz core)...

let's just say i sent them back the next day and reverted to my prior rig setup...

socket 7 sucks...

wait, antoher disappointment, noticing my 486SLC to be slower than my friend's 386DX40 (in doom especially, probably because it lacked a co-processor)...

best upgrade - aforementioned k6-2 system to this one...damn noticeable.
