You find a piece of plastic in your food at Olive Garden - what do you do?

Okay.. For some reason, I feel it is better to give a restaurant the benefit of the doubt when I find something like a piece of plastic in my food. This has happened to my friends and I a few times at different restaurants and we all reacted differently.

What would you do?

I'm looking for a reaction that is fair to both parties (the restaurant and the customer) but not cheap.

Please vote whichever one is closest to what you would actually do!

I'd have them remake it. pretty simple, and maybe have them throw in a desert for good measure :)

Tell the manager immediately, do not move any of the food or try to pick the foreign object out of your food.

Then try and milk it for all it's worth, if I get another meal and it's free then I'm happy.

If it's something really serious (aside from just plastic), complain to the manager, also report it to their corporate headquarters and your local health department then wait for your "Free Lifetime of Meals" card to arrive in the mail :D

If you tell the manager and ask for nothing, most of the time they'll offer something anyway.

I would normally inform the manager and ask for a replacement (if it was not cooked as one big batch, and I'll ask for specifics). I once freaked out at IHOP though because I found what I KNOW was a freakin pube in my food--at the BOTTOM, you know, I'd eaten most of it... the manager asked if I would like another--I said "Are you f'in nuts?" Everyone in my party ate free that day... but I hurled.

Put it in your mouth, make it look like you're choking on it, then run into their kitchen and barf over their Fillet Mignon, making sure they see the piece of plastic.

After that happens, just say "My bad." and walk gently to your table.

Just ask for a new one, and they'll give you one. Don't think they would both argueing with you about it. Its pretty simple really,
