With all of the different agencies and bureau supposedly "watching" everything you would think it would be impossible to get drugs into this country. Then there are the stiff penalties that gets slapped on dealers who traffic that stuff. The law has even been really tough on people who get caught trying to buy and use drugs. So with all of the laws and regulations how the hell are millions of pounds of drugs getting into the country?

Underground. That's right. China dug a tunnel straight through the core of the earth and it opens right in downtown D.C.

Because money is the root of all evil, and when you have alot of money, you can buy aspects of the us government, such as a few agents in border patrol. Pay them enough and you will get through no problem.

I can understand some drugs slipping in between the cracks, but all year long I hear these reports about how police raid these crack houses and find hundreds and thousands of pounds of drugs. THere must be some huge freaking cracks that the goverment has in its system.

Thats another thing I think about, if the goverment is concerned about the drug problem why don't they legalize it. If they legalized drugs that would get rid of a lot of the bad elements in some cities. (no more crack houses, gang wars over drug territory, drug related crimes) Also it would make it easier to wean people off of the harder drugs. Instead of spending millions on drug enforcement that money could be used in drug rehab centers to help get people off of that junk. It worked in China and it worked in the US with alcohol

heh speaking of weed, I hear that it can damage brain cells. Is that true if you eat it (ala brownies, cookies, tea, etc.) as opposed to smoking it?

Wasn't it just a week or two ago that they uncovered a dozen or so tunnels into the US - which must have been a multimillion dollar operation to build. Who knows how long those tunnels have lasted and how much drugs have passed through. And that is right on the boarder with 10's of thousands of agents constantly on the lookout for that. Once you get through the boarder, there is virtually nothing to stop the drugs.

I'm intrigued, tell me more.

Paxil makes you feel passive without being totally stoned. Basically keeps you from feelings of going postal. I think they should dole them out in large quantities for post office employees. ;)

Tunnels across the Mexico-US border. They have found two in the last several years, elaborate suckers with rails for a mining car and running lights. I'm sure there are several others, the border is pretty damned long. So is the entire US coast line. Canada isn't as hawkish about their borders, I'm sure a lot of drugs come through Canada.

As many agencies and personnel as there are doing drug interdiction, its a drop in the proverbial bucket. So its really no mystery how drugs come into the United States. There are many areas between the US and Mexico where you can just walk straight over and back, nobody checks you.

I was about to say something similar. There are a ton of miles to be covered along the U.S. borders and coast lines. There are not nearly enough personnel out there to cover all of that. And if there were, huge huge huge budget costs (though it would probably take care of unemployment!) Plus, the drug runners are getting more creative all of the time; Secret compartments, tunnels, planes, boats, walkers, runners, pregnant women, you name it.

WTF are you smoking? Paxil is by no means an equivilent to any type of illegal substance. Paxil is a SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor). Marijuana has no role on serotonin (chemical in your brain which controls mood, happinesss, all kinda stuff).

You're smoking something pretty strong man.

Dude if you read my post farther down it would explain my reasoning.Thx for blowing the sunshine up my ass on the definition of Paxil but I already knew all of that.
