You ever use this to work on customer computers?

Have you ever used Remote Assistance (XP) to work on a customer or friend's computer? Yes, it would have to be a simple thing to fix and not something that would require physical presence. There is a lady that says she lost her "Favorites" and it seems like it would be easier just to try this instead of driving 30 minutes to her house to look at it... maybe not?

How does it work when one person is on 56k?

I charge $65/hr with a 2 hr minimum for all calls and that includes driving time. I have no problem with going to my customers' sites.

Yeah, my bro's ex was in Michigan Law School (sorry, what the hell is the abbrev. for that?) while I was in NY... so I told her to install Remote Admin and I fixed her $#!T from here.

Dang... maybe I should raise my $30/hour price. And I don't charge for the drive. Right now it's just extra money and is a lot better than the $10 I get at my other job.

You fix your brother's ex's stuff? I guess you were friends with her before they went out?

$30 an hour is pretty darn cheap, when I go out to do networking its $100 for the 1st hr, one hour minimum, $70 each additional hour

im thinking it would be 85.97% easier for you to go there.
if a person can lose favorites... that person will mess up more things from following directions to setup remote assistance or their computer has far more problems.

We use it all the time here at work. We have many remote people that don't even understand basic computing so it's the only way we can help them short of them overnighting their laptop back to the corporate office.
