I have had the ocassion to see some older folks a few days in a row. I noticed they seem to wear the same clothes for days in a row. Is this just an older thing? Maybe they just don't get them dirty. I don't do that now and I can't imagine doing that when I get old. I wonder if they thought the same thing as me when they were my age. :Q

I think it's that when they shop, they see something they like and buy multpiles of it.

I mean, it's hard to find those pair of shorts that pulls up over your belly... just.... so......

I wear the same cloths because I'm fat and I don't like buying new cloths that will be ill fitting and tight. Once they're stretched out and comfy, I'll wear them until there are too many holes.

I think it depends on the person. I know one older person who doesn't even bother to bathe much less change regularly. I know others who wear new clothes/bathe every day.

maybe old people wash them everyday! so it's okay.

cuz I have like 4 pairs of pants in my wardrobe and I only do the laundry once a month.

and I wear my shirts until they start smelling.

but I alternate day by day so it looks like I'm wearing fresh clothes everyday:)

Have you considered going up a size or so?

Sometimes it may look like I wear the same clothese because #1 a lot of my pants look the same and #2 a lot of the time I wear a shirt unbuttoned on top of a white or black t-shirt and you don't have to wash those often since they are on top of a t-shirt..not like they get stinky ;):p

Looks like the question should have been: "You ever notice that younger people wear the same clothes?"

I have noticed other odd behavior in some seniors. I live in FL and it's like freaking hot most of the time. Yesterday, for example, I was out to lunch and I noticed this older gentleman wearing a light jacket. Keep in mind it's like 89 degrees out.

My intro chem professor, an older gentleman, had a habit of always wearing the same jacket, tie, and shirt. Evidently, he only changed his pants. All the students noticed this and were surprised anytime he actually wore something different.

Older folks are less active, therefore sweat far less than active people. They are also either on a fixed income, or are products of the great depression and are therefore very frugal.

All this adds up to wearing clothes multiple times before washing them.

Hell, I'm only 33, and I sometimes wear clothes twice before washing them, so long as I didn't sweat or get them soiled. :D

For you tree huggers out there, just be glad these folks are using less energy and water to wash their clothes. ;)

I am 25 and I will wear the same pants for up to 5 days in a row. If I don't spill nothing on them they ain't dirty :). Shirts, underwear, and socks are near the stinky parts so they normally only get worn once. I just make sure I have enough so I can go a whole month without doing the wash.
