You ever notice how some women and some gay men

From personal experience at least, everywhere I've worked I've noticed how a lot of times some women or some gay men tend to walk like they're in a hurry no matter what they're doing.

It could be walking to the bathroom or walking to the water cooler to refill their bottle. It's no matter what the situation is, they're in a hurry.

What gives?

😕

Anyone else notice this?

OK I can see this needs to be said. I am in no way implying that if you're a guy and you walk fast that you're gay. (not that there's anything wrong with that)

Just to get that out of the way.

This is just an observation of mine from my own personal experience in my own environment.

You ever notice how some lesbians and some straight men tend to walk everywhere like they're in a hurry?

Where do you live, incidentally? I've noticed that in most larger cities people walk around like they're in a hurry; in more rural settings, they don't. I think it's a cultural thing more than anything else.

I've literally never seen any straight men do this in any places I've worked that I can recall unless there was something going on at that moment that was the cause for them walking fast.

I'm talking every single day these same people no matter what they're doing walk everywhere fast, at work, outside of work, doesn't matter.

I can assure you I am not gay and I always walk fast wherever I am going.

Go to Manhattan. You will see literally thousands of straight men walking as though they were solely responsible for powering the Earth's rotation. Hell, I'm a straight man, and I tend to walk at a very brisk clip, certainly much faster than most gay men I know.

I walk about double the speed of the normal person. I'm not gay and I'm not a woman. That just happens to be my normal, comfortable speed. When I walk the speed of other people, I feel like I have to take vastly abnormally small steps and trudge as slow as possible through molasses. Also, why go slow? The transition isn't fun or doesn't get your work done. I'd rather spend 10 minutes walking a day and have 10 more minutes of free time than spend 20 minutes walking. At work, a fast walk means I can get more work done and get home sooner or I can linger and chat with coworkers instead of wasting time walking.

I hate people that walk slow in the hallways. Especially when it is a group of people who take up the whole sidewalk or hallway.

Get your lazy fat-ass out of my way.

I'm straight and I walk like I've got somewhere to be all the time, even when I don't. I also live in Chicago so walking fast is a part of getting around here.

Why?

Not being a smartass, just seriously wondering.

I'm a fast walker, but as far as I know I am not gay nor am I a woman. I do drink a lot of coffee though.

Well on the flip side of the topic, I work with one guy in particular that is sooooooo slow at walking and constantly walking right into the way of people that are "zooming" on by in the halls and pissing them off all the time.

He's not fat though, just walks slow as hell for some reason, that annoys me.

I live in Minneapolis, supposedly where all the lesbians in the world live, and I never noticed this...I have seen oodles of lesbians around here too...and gay men.

I really don't have a reason, I have just always done it. I guess I just really want to get where I'm going as fast as possible. It can be frustrating at times since I work in a middle school and they tend to saunter through the halls all spread out oblivious to anything going on around them.

What I'm curious about is why every car in the street seems to always be in a hurry.

Driving at or slightly less than the speed limit is good enough for me. Especially in a residential area.

So based on the OP's observation, can I just assume that these people are women or gay?

Agreed with Linflas on both posts, although not the bit about working in a middle school.

fast walkers are usually fit people. it's a good thing.

This does match with my observations.

But doesn't not mean slow walkers are fat, which is odd kind of...

I used to be a very slow walker. In fact, NYC friends would mkae fun of me for waling so slow. Now after living and working in manhattan for several years, I walk fast too. Tourists walk slow, gay or straight male or female.

I walk fast most of the time and am not gay. I developed the habit from the retail world where a fast walk and a certina look on your face kept customers away from you as you looked 'busy and harried'. Very effective

Says the person with 26,636 post 😉

I am an admitted lazy fucker. However, I tend to walk around fast.
