You ever have dreams that actually make sense?

I recently had a dream that actually made sense which kinda freaked me out because they've never made any sense before. Like the one last night where I was trying to get to a work cookout for some dill chili (we've never had a work cookout and I don't really care for dill) but fell down a hill made of rabbits and ferrets (none of which were hurt in the process) before getting lost in a big city driving around on a go kart with a refrigerator on the back

Anyway - the one that made sense had a very logical progression. When I wasn't sure how to get to the cabin on the other side of the lake I looked around and found a road. The proprietors of the place showed us the room and very logically explained they opened up the attic to create a loft with a big window to let the light in. When I asked why the south half of the lake was so busy they explained it was public property but we were on the north side which was private so it was much quieter. A normal series of events and environments such that you might think it was an actual event...

When I was in college I had math and physics solutions come to me in my sleep. Also, had network design solutions do the same back in the day.

I seldom remember dreams, but the ones that make sense usually piss me off. They're just some lame real life type stuff that gives you all the irritation, but none of the resolution, aside from waking up. I like the surreal dreams better.

Due to the Trazadone I take to help me sleep at night, I get really bizzard and surreal dreams.

Some of my recurring dreams. Mostly in color.

1. Going back college taking a subject that I've already finished years ago. I know that I've already graduated, but I have to take it again. Sometimes I commute or drive my car.
2. Misplaced or stolen car. Always reflects the current model I own. Wherever I go to, I can't remember where I parked.
3. Working at a former job with people I haven't seen in 30 years, on a building that no longer exists.
4. Outing/Vacation with relatives/family members, dead and alive. Usually on a park or beach.
5. Jumping off a plane without any parachute. Or the chute doesn't open properly.

I don't know what age I am during these dreams.

Very often. Also, last night is the first time in a *long* time that I don't remember at least a few dreams.

Last night I dreamt i pooped myself. I had to check under the cover after I woke up to make sure my bed was poop free.

Usually when I have dreams that kind of make sense, it is usually caused by having a difficult technical issue at work. My subconscious continues to work on the problem while I'm asleep. I'll wake up after the dream occurs and I'll type up an email and send it to my work. I would say that more than half the time these dreams actually help me resolve the issue. I wish I could bill the company for those hours.

Now when I have nightmares, that's another story. I get into these weird states where I know it is a dream, but I can't wake myself up from them. I'm conscious and aware, but my body is completely immobilized. I can't move any part of my body, I can't open my eyes, I can't open my mouth, but I can make sound. The medical term is called Sleep paralysis, and unfortunately I have this happen way to often. So when it happens, I call out my wife's name repeatedly (with my lips stuck shut), this wakes her up and she shakes my body and yells at me to wake up until I finally wake up. I always thank her for waking me up, and then I'm able to go back to sleep. It used to freak her out when we first got married, but after 32 years she has finally gotten used to it.

Usually these dreams involve a shadowy figure entering the bedroom and then standing near me with some sort of blade or sharp object, and some form of vivisection is about to occur on me. Everything in the dream seems crystal clear and real except for the shadowy figure who doesn't quite come into focus.

The other recurring nightmare I have is that I can't wake up from a dream, I'm mistaken for being dead, and I'm in a casket and being buried alive.

Last night I dreamt that my company gave out Squatty Pottys for a Christmas gift. It was pretty cool.
