You don't have to post "subscriber" and "non-subscriber" links, y'know...

Fairly often I see people post two links... One for subscribers and one for non-subscribers. If you just post the "http://forums.anandtech.com..." link, it'll redirect the subscriber to the subscriber servers just fine.

All you do is post the non-subscriber link.
If you are a subscriber, it will automatically do it for you.

vise versa doesn't work though - non subscribers must manually change from "subcriber." to "forums.", it's a hassle, but not the end of the world

Yup, I don't know of the page where I read it, but here's the line from my hosts file:

216.151.100.125 subscriber.anandtech.com

speaking of posting links, i find it annoying that i have to edit out the http:// part from my links it automatically proivdes that or another protocal (how many people posts secure links? https://? or email addresses, for that matter). i think most people copy links from the address bar of their browser, not typing the whole thing out. i would like to see the prefix removed, please.
