"You do not have permission to access this forum"

Every time i try to update my profile i get this error popping up:

"You do not have permission to access this forum"

I get no problems posting however, ive also made sure cookies are enabled, and ive tried this from home and work and both have the same outcome, any ideas?

Search for "profile" in Forum Issues.

See if the solution can be found among the many threads dealing with aspects of this problem. Depending on what you're trying to change, could be a firewall problem, a forbidden email address, a too-long signature etc. All have been addressed in those threads.

I got the same mssg when I was setting up my account,but I kept trying and it eventually got created.I`m assuming the site was down or malfunctioning somehow that day....keep trying

I know when I registered for this site I had to wait 20 minutes becuase they were replacing the dilithium crystals in Anands matrix!!

hey I do not know if this is my fault or a problem, but I can not start threads for some reason. I click on the new topic and nothing happens... I am there is more to this since other buttons like help do not work either. any ideas?

not that I am aware of. It happens in both IE and firefox and I tried disabling norton internet security and I still have a problem. I even put forums.anandtech.com and anandtech.com into the allowed section for firefox popups, still nothing.. I think you might be right since I can not click on reply either.. I have to use this quick reply at the bottom
