Smugmug is like 15$ more - but I hear great things.

Ok - money isn't an issue 40$ or 25$ - I just want the best service for storing pics.

You vote, I'll get.

I voted Flickr because:
1. Many useful features
2. Has a good online community
3. Owned by Yahoo, so your photos are unlikely to disappear one day.

i use yahoo photos for free, has unlimited space and works reasonably well. i noticed that most people who are really into photography don't use this... why?

I use Smugmug. I'm personally not impressed with flickr because every time I click on a picture in someone's flickr account it's always slow to load compared to my smugmug account. My smugmug loads 5MB picture with ease. I also don't think the webpage layouts on Flickr are as aesthetically pleasing as Smugmug. Every single time I go to someone's flickr photo I always think of how much of an eyesore the webpage surrounding the photo is. It just seems incredibly amateurish.

EDIT: On the flip side it's strange seeing amateurish shots on Smugmug because these shots are always surrounded by a professional looking website :p

Flickr! I love my pro account and I have absolutely no regrets. Never had downtime, links and pictures always load, and the user interface is absolutely stellar! Drag and drop pictures for icons for sets, bulk file rename, software for the computer to make it faster to upload...

It's hard to believe that you get so much for $25.

I went with Smugmug, and have been very happy with it. :)

Edit: Oh yes, if you want $5 off your first year for Smugmug, let any of us who have accounts know, we can get you a referral/discount code.

I use PBase for now and I have never had a problem with it. I may look into smugmug for my next time around though....
