Why would we want credit cards to go away? If you use them correctly, which is hard to learn how to do, they are very convenient.

What would you rather carry about $3,000 in cash to buy a appliances or a credit card. Get mugged and cash taken, sucks to be you. CC taken, no big deal.

Seriously wtf to the CC haters?

They make it clear as day what happens when you don't pay your balance in full. They break every detail down and tell you exactly what fees/interest you're subject to throughout the statement. No one to blame but yourselves if you're getting slapped with interest.

And just because they give you a large credit limit, does not mean you HAVE to max it out, or spend more money than before. Take responsibility. I started with a $500 limit CC in April 2010, now I have $11,000 total credit limit on CC's. I spend no more than I did when I had no CC's.
