You can't wash, launder, dry clean, or even apply water on silk ties... what CAN you do to keep them clean?

WTF? So i google up ''how to clean silk ties" and you basically can't do ANYTHING except apply some spot removers if you somehow spill food on your tie or something. W - T - F. How the hell are you supposed to clean silk ties then?

I read a webpage that said you can apply some sort of chemical protection so that if you do spill stuff on your tie, you can get it out easier... unfortunately they don't mention what these products are, or what some brand names are... anyone have a clue?

You can tuck them into your shirt when eating so that you don't get them dirty.

i thought you could take them to the cleaners

This is the correct answer. Just have them cleaned by professionals.

Yeah, I've had silk ties dry cleaned with no problem. Hell, which would you prefer...a tie with a bunch of stains on it or a ruined tie?

they look nice. and if you've got a job where wearing a tie is required, professional appearance is probably important.

...and don't ask how they do it

LOL! So many smart ass answers to this one.

But seriously, if a tie is stained and cannot be professionally cleaned then it is a backup. why do you think a man needs 30 ties?

So he can make it thru february.

Ok, well, hmmm, it seems people are contradicting what i've been reading about using dry cleaners to clean silk ties.

But anyway, is there anything i can spray onto a tie to protect it from stains?

Well how about instead of asking a thousand perfect strangers you go to the god damn dry cleaners and ask the mother fuckers IF THEY CAN CLEAN IT?

Sweet Jesus is everyone here brain damaged?
My pussy hurts. Should I shove a machete in it?
My dog ate poison. Whats the nearest Taco Bell in my area?
My girlfriend hates me. Can I have a cookie?
My girlfriend has a machete in her pussy. Should I sue the dog?

If this place is ever shut down then a lot of pathetic bastards are gonna have to figure out their lives the hard way.

Maybe you should take the machete out of your own pussy if you get so angry over the internet

TOO LATE!

Also, ScotchGuard could be used to protect a tie, but I dont think I'd spray it on expensive silk.
