Not surprising when the senate is full of spineless maroons.

Still going after Obama's legacy I see. What a shallow minded, spiteful, spoiled brat he is, and he spends so much of his time proving it over and over and over again.

Yet there he is, a hot mess of a POTUS with the solid backing of a base that's just as shallow minded and spiteful as he is. The more he makes an ass of himself, the more his base does the same defending him.

No way to untangle that little Hell of theirs until Trump gets yanked out of office in such a humiliating fashion that even his most loyal supporters become too embarrassed to mention his name ever again.

You didn't win. You just got the power to fuck your fellow human beings. You lose when you lose what matters.
Wait, so he really doesn't care about policy at all? Their entire platform reduces down to owning the libs? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you! I'm as shocked as the righties are when liberals are no longer "going high" when they go low!!!!

For some reason the original link won't open for me, so I'm not sure what Obama era environmental reg got rolled back here, but after a while I feel inclined to not feel bad about it and let it happen.

I live in a very blue state that will basically always have stricter environmental regs than the federal government will standardize. If red state folks want to live in irradiated landfills dotted with oil derrecks then why should I really try and stop them?

Libs need to let people suffer the consequences of their own actions. By swooping in and saving people from themselves, the downward cycle of regressive conservatism is perpetually reinforced.

That's just a slightly different version of FYGM that ignores our interconnectedness & our responsibility to future generations.

- I would agree with the FYGM sentiment if these individuals didn't have any say in who their elected representatives were.

Hiring a bunch of anti-environmental legislators at the state level, then expecting the feds to come in and save the day is entirely within their control to correct and prevent. (All the while the entire elected body of that state complains about the "tyranny" of the federal government impossing rules on the state).

If these folks were just the victims of anti-environmental policy at the federal level with no recourse, then the whole bleeding heart argument holds.

Pure bullshit. You ignore the consequences of living down wind & downstream from major pollution sources. You also ignore the fact that we all depend on the Ag production of conservative regions as will our descendants. Enormous areas of the West already suffer from the loss of productivity due to generations of over grazing. Nearly 100 years after the fact the consequences of the over farming that caused the dust bowl are still with us.

It's unsurprising when you realize that the GOP is on a top down class warfare looting spree. The next time their Capitalist ideology crashes the economy it'll only get worse. You know they will. It's a basic feature of poorly regulated Capitalism, one they love dearly. They love buying assets at fire sale prices. Ask Mnuchin.

- So? These people have a vote and "elections have consequences" yes? Isn't Donald Trump president? Did all the prior bellyaching make a difference?

My argument is that fighting these people A) validates their belief in dirty libs ruining everything/talking down from their ivory towers and B) reinforces the cycle of the Donald Trumps of the world setting policy, getting us further from our desired goal.

Storm in a teacup internet arguments and insults are nice, but they pale in comparison to letting these people reap what they sow (Ag pun intentional).

4 billion years of evolution gave us pain, Nature's best teacher: when it hurts something is wrong and you shouldn't keep doing what you're doing. Let's see if the "heartland" voter gets the message.

A FYGM attitude doesn't look good on anybody, not even on the right wingers usually wearing it.

The BP oil spill wrecked the fishing industry down the entire Gulf coast, and this guy thinks that's a good thing.

This news would only matter to Riprorin's Tub Boat operating sock puppet and even then it would not... Wrong sock, wrong topic. Unless the topic is: We just burned off another corner of the Constitution to piss off the liberals... It's going to fall on deaf lint in these threads...
