"You cannot post or edit a message twice"

apoppin

Just a bit of extra work for us.

It used to be far more simple to hit "back" and edit the message then update it. Now it takes extra steps and time.

Is this a permanent feature of the new FuseTalk?

EDIT: I am referring ONLY to "editing" a message - NOT posting twice.

I totally agree with the Double Posting ("You cannot post a message twice").

I am referring to editing the same message more than once. (Perhaps I am the only one who will see a gramatical error, correct it and then notice I forgot a thought. It used to be you could REedit quickly. Now I find I have to make another reply to be timely.)

I've had problems with it as well, but only because I've had problems with ie giving me a lot of errors. Hitting back, then cutting the text, hitting refresh, then pasting, and hoping it doesn't mess up again is a real hassle. I finally upgraded my browser to IE 6 , which will hopefully solve the problem.

Perhaps Zuni will address this at this late date. If not, I can live with it. 🙂

I can see no disadvantage to not being able to edit your message more than once without going through the extra steps of going back to the thread and starting from "edit" AGAIN.

I've had this problem and it's a pain in the ass but what I do is CTRL A to select all then CTRL C to copy my entire post. Then I'll hit back then post or edit. However I've sometimes accidentally double posted using this method. So to further aggrivate me I have to hit refresh to see if my first post was ever posted.

But this only happens like 3 times a week for me so I can live with it.

Try "replying" then "editing" again if you are not logged in (I sometimes only reply to 1 post so often I don't log in) - it happens far more often than that to me. 😱

And I have learned to copy and paste all my multiply edited messages so I don't accidently lose any more time on my message.

It's just a minor irritation, but would be nice if we were allowed to re-edit again from "back".

I never logoff so maybe that's why it's easier for me?

Bingo, every now and then when my DSL craps out I either don't use my "internet appliance" (PC) or bite the bullet and use dial up.

I agree w/ apoppin, it would be much easier to be able to hit the back button to be able to "edit" a post...a feature I miss from the old fusetalk...I understand the need when "posting" to stop multiple posts, however when "editiing" it is a great time saver, esp. for those of us who are crippled on dialup
