This is only because no one can afford to buy gas. His indecisive economic policy is forcing gas prices up and up while the demand is down. Everyone is scared to spend money because they dont know what the tax will be next year. Probably a lot of people have or will sell off their stock before the end of the year to make profit before the old high taxes of Clinton Return.
Be prepared to pay a lot more in taxes.
You really, really need to get out more. No one can afford to buy gas?
You wouldn't know it from Denver traffic. Sales are down slightly from 2007, when they peaked, but it sure as hell isn't like nobody can afford gas. They can't afford the food and lodging for the vacation in the Mountains, or California, or wherever, so they don't go. And they figured out that they need to be a little more frugal, anyway, so the car they have now gets better mileage. They shop more on the internet and less at the mall across town. Lots of other factors, too.
Compared to the rest of the first world and much of the rest, Americans get dirt cheap gasoline, well, except for when free market speculators go nuts, like they did late in the Bush years... I mean, who was gonna stop 'em, anyway? Dick Cheney?
