You can run a 9800GTX+ PCI2.0 on a PCI1 A8N mobo right?

I am just confused. Right now I currently have a 7800GTX in my rig and its starting to show its age so I decided to go with the updated 8800GTS. So I got it off of new egg for 159 which was a killer deal but I have an ASUS A8N mobo with I think only PCI-e 1.0a right, or is it 1.1?

Anyways I have seen some reports with the nVidia 8 series having problems running with 1.0a and I was wondering if this would affect me as well?

I installed my 9800GTX right out of the box and tried booting the rig up and all I got were white flickering squares. Thats it... so I put my ole faithful 7800GTX back in and now posting this...

that was with a google search for your board and PCI-E 2.0 video cards link

Thanks a bunch for all of the links! So everyone seems to be saying that it should work so I am guessing that its just a bad card then.

I have a friend who is running a 4870 X2 in that motherboard and it works fine so you should be ok.
