For those of you who require sending your Xbox or Xbox 360 in for repairs, we now have another option to speed things along. Xbox.com has an online option for customers in the US, now available at http://service.xbox.com.

This new service lets you register your Xbox or Xbox 360 console, setup a repair, and track the status of the repair, all online. This new site lets you create In-Warranty or Out-of-warranty repairs, and even gives you a $5 discount for Out-of-Warranty repairs.

We hope you don't need to use it, but if you do, we hope it speeds things along.

This is actually way better than the phone system, which was my biggest problem with the way they handled things when my console got RRod. They consistenly leave you on hold as they transfer you from person to person when you try to check the status of your repair.

This is great. I've always wondered why MS didn't offer this.

I love using this for HP at work. We just go online and submit our request, parts arrive the next day. No phones necessary 😀

That's funny...my experience was very straightforward. I went through the "automated" attempt at repairs for less than 10 minutes...and then got a person on the line within another 10mins. He got me registered and a box sent to me within 10 more minutes. I wasn't on the phone for more than a half hour and wasn't put on hold once. I did call on a Saturday morning which may have been better than a weeknight.
