good for post apocalyptic scenario, dont see it needing anytime soon. These are the times when everything is moving TO the cloud, Why would anybody want to download something to his personal storage and be stuck with outdated version...

Pretty cool. It would be nice to sync edits with the online version, and mirror it on a couple darknets.

I go off the grid with my travel trailer occasionally, it will be nice to have access to wikipedia.

The nerd screams do it! But then I can't think of a single compelling reason. Besides I would miss out on all the Pakistan vs India edit wars.

Do tell...do I just have to look up India or Pakistan to find these? Reminds me of the Russian edits of their / US fighter jets.

Could see myself downloading it. To have that much information in a folder on a drive would be really fascinating for me.

It would take a rediculously long time to download it for me. It makes a lot of sense if you're in a country where Wikipedia is censored. A way to smuggle it in on a USB key without relying on public networks to access information.
