at least that is what a guy in one of my classes says.... and he is totally serious. He said it's illegal to distribute over the net, but ou can make copies for friends if you'd like totally legally!

I tried explaining it to him, but he says "My brother is a lawyer and he told me!"

I dont bother with backups. I play music, crappy roommates or someone starts singing it. Kills the song all together.

Sure, it's easy. You do it just like you usually make a backup, only you give to your friend when you're done.
