This is gonna be my first xmas as a home-owner. I got my keys last year on x-mas eve, so I plan to go all out with x-mas decorations, lights, tree.

Have you gotten your tree yet? You plan on?

I have an artificial tree, so no need to "get" one. It's going up Thanksgiving day. Traditionally, I do it the day after, but this year we're having guests who want to see it while they're here.

I'd think that now would be too early to get any sort of live tree. It would get way too dried out by the time Christmas rolls around.

Well the stores have the Xmas stuff for sale when they have the Halloween stuff up as well so I don't think it's too early.

This is my first married Christmas. Went with my wife yesterday to buy some basic outdoor decorations. We got some pre-lit garland for around our front door and 2 pre-lit trees in pots to put on our front porch. We'll pick up a pre-lit tree sometime soon. Anybody know of any good deals on a 7-7.5' pre-lit tree?

Well any retail store is going to be expensive. Try a place like Big Lots. They are usually a lot cheaper there.

I voted yes because this year, we'll be using the same artificial tree we've used for the past 10 years...But it will NOT be put up before the weekend following Thanksgiving...hopefully a couple of weekends past that.

no , go away !
I still have Thanksgiving to deal with, then dragging out all the crap, waiting in lines, putting up with disgruntled family members and playing the role of peace maker on christmas day. Then I get to pack it all up again and do it next year. yay

I bought mine at 75% off at Target last year. :D It's waiting for the day after Thanksgiving to make it's appearance.

I also got lights when patrolling the shelves at CVS and discovering they were clearing out a bunch of the Longs Drugs branded items - 90% off. :D

I'm going to check out Walmart for lights and decorations, I hope its cheap!

I haven't seen any of the parking lots selling pre-cut trees yet.

I'm thinking this year we will pass. Not enough room for one without moving soem furniture, and with a baby on the way I've got more concerns.

I recently bought a house too so did not buy mine yet. I'll probably skip out this year as I still have a renovation loan to pay, but next year I will buy one. I did buy Christmas lights and they're up + turned on as of a few days ago. 45 days left till Christmas!!!
