So i pulled the trigger on a refurbished RH Logic 400.

It arrived this morning.

It might not be as sweg as a "1337 RacingTurbo K1LL3R omg 3000" but it actually supports in a way that cannot be matched by any standard chair. Not only you feel as if you were standing up, but it's comfortable, and not hard in any way. It's as if people where holding you up in the perfect gaming position.

I paid £200 for this, with £25 2-day shipping. It got to my house early morning. It's indistinguishable from a new one.

Oh i must be insane to spend $300 on a chair, but, with £219 on a Topre, £275 on a monitor, and considering this thing is indestructible and will likely last 5+ years .. and that i NEED a chair, i said what the hell, i'm buying it.

These thing cost £1000 new. yep.
When i say "indestructible", i mean it. built like a tank, sitting on it is somehow between sitting on a cloud and sitting on a battleship. A fluffy battleship.

I hadn't upgraded my rig in ages .. since buying a GTX 770 after the launch rush was over, around 2015.

My next chair i'll probably save up and get a chair designed for 24 hour use. They cost $1200-2500(MSRP brand new), but they're extremely comfortable over long periods and generally have a large range of adjustments.

this chair you speak of, is it a "gamer" chair, or a office chair?
and, do you have a chance of trying it before you buy it? and trying alternatives, maybe?

I tried a RH Logic (no i do not work for them) first time back in IBM and i was mind-blown. I flipped the chair to see the label and found a code, which i googled (i honestly did not see they have a logo on the back, i'm blind) and found who makes them, and when i saw they went for a thousand pounds, i quickly shfited it from "i want this" to "if i win a million dollars, i want this".

but, then i thought, "hold on, this is office stuff, surely someone will have a refurb option??" and BAM!, a £1k chair for £200.

is it worth £1.000 ?? no.
is it worth £200? you betcha.

i'm now convinced in the usefulness of a good chair, but this also depends on how big of a person you are. If you are smaller, a simple office chair can do, and can be had for little money. But if you are 6'3" like me, whether L or XXL, you need a big, solid chair.
However, i think that gaming chairs are too expensive for what they provide; they are generally PU (a really ppor excuse for leather), and while they look sweg, they will not last very long, as the build quality is mediocre.

office / medical chairs, on the other hand ...

yup, it's what we here call "operator" chairs. if you need to speak a LONG time sitting, you want one of them.

i mean, they are good even for sitting 5 minutes, but you need to balance cost to usefulness.

see if you can get a refurbished one, possibly with warranty.
