Troll: just one. Troll has firewall - chest, legs some sort of special helmet with Oculus Rift. Something like this:

An automatic posting script Fast servers (see below) + mainframes blades (fully virtualized auto posting environment). A few rack mounted scripting servers with a redundant internet connection. There could be more trolling accounts, trolls or botnets in there, you aren't sure. But, you've observed the above.

Here is a combo / make up of what the troll could have - you take your picks - the point being, he is has scripts, lots of 'em;
- semi-automatic posting script(s)
- blades(s)
- 7 proxies
- firewalls(s)

The troll is about 7 hops from you. You are in a public forum with little to no cover. There are about 30 or so users logged in. And, no one is between you and the troll when you do a traceroute- BUT, there are a few people behind yourself and the troll.

What do you believe will happen? Base it on what you would do and expect would occur.

Edit: this is a mass posting. Whatever you need to indicate this is trolling is happening; personal attacks towards you, at other people, uttering IRL threats that they will perform from their mom's basement, etc.

Edit 2: making it clear this isn't medieval times,.. yes, someone went there.

It sounds like the troll has become self aware and spawned multiple, independent consciousnesses that have invaded any form of computation more advanced than an abacus or slide rule. In which case, the only solution is to nuke the entire planet from space - preferably with a strangelet bomb that converts all quarks to the strange flavor and causes the planet to collapse in on itself into a basketball sized blob of strange matter.

After that, we can only hope that some alien civilization that eventually receives our various EMF emissions will memorialize us with a theme park composed of carbon based replicas of us, preferably in a pocket universe that they create just for that purpose.

Of course it's possible this is just a case of 'been there, done that.'
