"I used to be a tree maintainer, then I took a chainsaw to the neck."

The calendar said March, but Monday clearly was Valentine's day -- James Valentine, to be specific -- when the 21-year-old Pennsylvania man survived a work accident that sent the razor-sharp teeth of a chainsaw blade deep into his neck and shoulder, and barely a centimeter from a vital artery.
Thanks to quick but cautious work by his colleagues and medical responders, 30 stitches and an hour of surgery, a day after the accident Valentine was recovering in stable condition at a Pennsylvania hospital.

Getting a chainsaw embedded in your neck doesn't make you a 'badass'. It makes you a jackass.

That's what I was thinking. A lucky jackass at that. Most chainsaw "accidents" are caused by not using it correctly.

I saw the Xray and the chain was broken.

I'm not going far out on the limb here at all to say if this guy broke a running chainsaw chain with his neck then Chuck Norris should begin training him immediately.

Psh Chuck Norris could have caught the chainsaw mid swing in his bare hand.

They had removed the chain and blade from the saw before taking the x-ray.

If a chainsaw ran into Chuck Norris, the chainsaw would be in the only one in the hospital.

No I saw an Xray on TV this morning that showed the chainsaw and the chain still in his neck.

I believe that is what he is saying the blade and chain were in the guys neck, but the chainsaw motor had been removed.

You want to see a badass? Youtube Clint Malarchuk....

And he made it back for the third period! (Now that would be a badass).
The trainer that pinched off the jugular was the real badass. Jim Pizzutelli was a medic in Viet Nam.

Also, just to clarify, that part they're calling a blade is really called a bar, or a guide bar.
