Here's my cat protecting my stash of computers and stuff.
Picture of Cat

I just got him 2 weeks ago and we're cool already. He sleeps under my bed and follows me if I go anywhere, like when I get a drink or go watch TV.

It's a ragdoll cat which is a mix of Angora-Persian and Burmese.

Hehe, looks like a good cat! Usually cats have a tendency to be really independent and subjective to their owners. However in your case - the cat seems to love being w/ ya, even after such a short period of time. That's a special cat y'got there-where can I find me one of those? =)

Luckily, I have a friend I met off the net who raises dogs for dog shows. I asked her for a reference for a cat and she had a friend who raises these cats for cat shows. If I do a search on the net for "ragdoll cats", you'll find plenty of establishments selling them. I doubt it would be cheap though. Mine cost me 200 Canadian.

Mine almost acts like a dog, except he sometimes has a mind of his own. And being a cat, he sleeps alot!

Got me one and here is his picture as a baby (white one in the rear) and as an adult. He loves coming into my PC room and will fling himself against the door and start yelling like someone is killing him until I open the door to let him in.

I'd be worried that the cat's going to have it's tail caught in a fan.....no more happy cat.

Linflas: you have nice kittens there. I know that Ragdolls are white when they're young and you won't know what color they'll come out to be until a year later or so.

My cat is like a dog, he runs out to meet and greet me when I come home.

People just dont know what it is to have a good cat until they have one.

Had one who greeted me after high school (4 blocks away) and walked me home.
Had a few others who were really great friends.

That's a nice cat. You know the cat cares because if he/she didn't, he/she would be sleeping :)

I wouldn't mind a dog neither, but I like the fact that a cat uses a litterbox.
That's prob one of the reasons why apartments allow cats and not dogs.

My cat is the opposite. I lost one cd-rom, then I lost another. I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. Then I found my freakin' cat munching on computer cables! That's what I get for leaving the case open.

Wow, that's a pretty cat:)

My cat is cute, cuddly and loves my daughter and won't bite or scratch her, but he chews any cord he can see to bare wire, so I just know I'm gonna wake up one morning to the smell of kitty barbecue:(

When we lived in a townhouse I had my PC setup down in the rec room which all our cats had access to. I was playing one of the Ultima games one day when suddenly my character went nuts. No matter what I did I could not seem to get him under control so I hit the reset button. When the machine rebooted I got a keyboard controller error so shut off the machine and started to investigate. This is when I found Sally (the one in the back in this photo) happily chewing on the mouse cable. She no longer visits my computer room.

Elita1 - They sell stuff at pet stores that has bitter apple in it that you can spray on cords. They normally hate the taste and will stop chewing on them.

Cool cat! There sure are a lot of cat owners in Davis, think it's because apartment owners won't let us have anything else.

VirtuaMike: I know that there are a lot of cats. In my complex, just the few apartments around my area, there are about 6-7 of them. My neighbor to the left has 2, to the right has 3, across the way, there are 3, one to each apartment. Sometimes, you can catch some of them staring at each other through the windows.

I've never seen a stray in Davis though, even with all the cats. I'm sure someone would pick it up and make it theirs. Only in Davis would that happen more often than not.
