Yokohama Tire Questions. Avid H4 or YK420?

Just wondering which tire is better? Anyone have any experience with either of them? I was speaking with a tire dealer and he said they do not stock the H4's so the installed (and shipped) price for them is $357.34. They do have the YK420's instock and those are originally $397 installed, but he said, because the H4 would have to be shipped, they would lower the price of the YK420's for me down to $365.94 installed. The H4's have a 45k mile warranty, and the YK420's have a 60k mile warranty. So which should I get? I'm leaning towards the 420's.. unless someone here tells me otherwise :)

Don't know either tire but I would check Tire Rack for customer reviews. Maybe go to the library and see if Consumer Reports reviewed them also.

Judging from the mileage warranties: The H4 seems more like an all-season tire and the YK420 seems more like a touring tire. I'm not sure which car you are putting these tires on, but Wal-Mart sells Good-Year Viva 2 tires which are all-season tires with a 60K warranty on them. The price is about $49.00 (each) plus $9.76 (each) for installation / balancing and then you just put the tax on top of that.

I'm putting them on a 2000 Honda Accord LX Coupe. The place I am getting them from (something like Discount Auto Tires) offers free rotation/balance and fixes any problems that arise aside from normal wear and tear on the tires such as nails or whatnot.. Does Walmart offer something like that? From what the tire guy I was talking to told me, the YK420's are virtually the same as the H4's except for the warranty.. I've read a few reviews of each and overall the H4's are good, but there aren't enough reviews to compare them to the 420's... Decisions decisions :-/

Anyone care to add anything today?... Pretty please? Will probably purchase the 420's after work today unless I hear otherwise...

I just got some avid H4 on my old BMW and they seem like a good tire, but then I am not really a super agressive driver. I got them for $69 each, installation included, just for your reference here in Maryland.

I had some Yoko Avid H4... well I still do, but they are installed on some 17" rims, 40 series 255 (I think) and I don't currently have them on my vehicle. They are somewhat loud, and every pot hole, bump is noticed with these tires. But they are cheap and I like 'em cheap.
