Had a really bad professor this term at my college for my object oriented programming class
Now, I'm not very good at programming, but he failed half the class, including me :X
UCF just yanked my $2000/year scholarship for failing the class 🙁
I think they ought to have a scholarship probationary period where you get a semester to redeem yourself...I honestly feel like some of us who took that class were not at fault
it's not like I'm a bad student either, my GPA was riding around 3.625
🙁

Honest to god
After the midterm, half the class dropped the class
I couldn't because then I wouldn't have enough classes to be considered a full time student, so I was forced to stay
of the remaining people, about half failed

The average grade on our final exam was something around a 20% or 25%

If half the class really failed and your GPA was 3.625, you could complain/petition the financial aid office to keep the scholarship.

I do have a job...but $2k for free is nothing to spit on

*edit*
I looked at the scholarship appeals form, and it says they'll return my appeal without looking at it if it doesn't have anything in it about a death in the family or severe illness

So half the class was willing to take an incomplete over a completed low grade?
riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

50% of a class failing makes the university look bad. No way they are going to allow that.

I believe they've replaced the teacher, or at least pulled him from teaching the class
one of my friends was in the class with me, but withdrew early, and went to take it this summer
the course listed said it would be taught by the same guy, but when he got to class this Monday, it was a new professor
*shrug*

You can withdraw from the class by a certain deadline and it won't go on your record
Yea, and AFTER your midterms is WAY too late.

Negatory
Unless you'd like to explain where half the class dissapeared to, since they never came back for finals

I suppose I'll try for the appeal and see what happens

The class was pretty funny actually...the prof really had no idea what he was doing
we were supposed to have 5 program assignments throughout the semester, 3 quizzes, a midterm, and a final
We only wound up getting 2 quizzes, as he forgot to give us a third one, and by the time finals rolled around, we were still on the third program assignment because it kept getting extended for weeks because very few people were able to complete it
he borrowed all his course lecture notes from the other prof teaching the other section, but couldn't explain hardly anything when asked
average grade on the midterm was about a 45%
average grade on the final was about a 24% I think
