LMAO!

So WTH does this do exactly? Is it an exercise? Do you get fit, like work your muscles?

And why is it so popular?

The only thing I like about yoga is the hot blonde chicks in yoga pants. Damn dat butt!

Yoga is stretching in rhythm with slow deep breathing. There are special poses designed to stimulate energies within the body. Most of the yoga classes are doing Hatha yoga, which is a first stage meant to prepare the body for more advanced poses for higher mind stuff, meditation etc.

I'm going to answer as if this were a serious question asked by a curious person.

Yoga is a broad term, like weightlifting. The kind of yoga you do should be determined by which results you're looking for - yoga for flexibility, yoga for knee pain, etc. Most yoga is about flexibility and mental focus, but some kinds (i.e. DDP Yoga, https://ddpyoga.com/blogs/success-stories) are more focused on muscular strength and cardio conditioning. The good thing about yoga is, as long as you're not a complete dumbass, you're very unlikely to get injured and it's very likely to offer at least some improvement in your life. Like with any other exercise, you'll get out of it what you put into it.

All I know about yoga is it gives women an excuse to wear pants that show off their bums to everyone.

Yoga is a derivation of Indian trans meditation where men sat under a tree until they saw the white light of eternal insight which they invariably did just before they died of starvation. So the technique was backed off somewhat and the tree is no longer a necessity. The various poses are a north american add on , some exercises to justify the price. But now you know why students pose so still. Unknowingly they are still waiting for the light.

Another ignorant OP thread. Love hot yoga. Helps you develop balance, flexibility, tone and firm muscles and strengthen your core. All things the OP lacks. Doubt the OP could last a class without hurting his fat self. Oh yeah, lots of hot women.
