And I can't believe that he then allowed Luke to go up against Vader and Sidious by himself. Powerful Yoda can't handle Sidious alone, so let's send n00b-Knight Luke in there to to tear things up.

but Anakin had Luke's back, the only way the chosen one could get close enough to Sidious to defeat him was to be on his side, so that Sidious wouldn't be expecting it

Interestingly, General Grievous is listed as having a midichlorian count of 11,900 (the average Jedi is listed at 10K), although he displays no Force-powers in the movies, or in any other licensed Star Wars material. It was also stated in the official Star Wars guides that Grievous had no Force powers.
