In these pollings, Trump and Biden are toe to toe at 43%.

43%. TIED.

We all know what will happen when Trump wins.

- All his legal problems goes bye bye.
- Executes KillDemocracyV2.exe
- Names himself King.
- Hands over Ukraine to Putin
- Transforms the US to a proxy state of The Soviet Union.
- Game Over.

Hyperbolic chicken little the sky is falling yea yea yea. Maybe. Counterpoint: Maybe not.

General election polls are basically meaningless. Especially this far out. The only things that matter are state polls from like ~7 states.
General election polls do have meaning in the broad sense that swing state polls can be inferred from them but the issue here is that polls this far away from the election have essentially zero predictive value. What's weird is the NYT 100% knows this but they published it anyway.

So basically any poll you see right now? Throw it in the trash. Maybe burn it for heat - it is worthless.

Honest question, who actually gets these polls, and how? Are they calling people on cell phone (I screen any unknown call) or even use land lines (who tf has one other than old people?)

In this case polls matter. I mean how can one not be concerned that at this given moment, regardless if the actual election is 15 months away, that it's a tie between your candidate and fucking Trump. I mean get fucking concerned, don't burn this information for warmth. Don't be a fucking idiot.

If this hasn't been fully jammed into your head yet, start jamming.

The popular vote has zero relevancy to whom wins the Electoral College.

The Electoral College is how a President wins the White House.

It doesn't matter if 500,000,000 Californians vote for Biden.

I did actually get called for one on my cell phone back in summer of 2020. Typically I wouldn't have answered, but I was in the process of moving house and couldn't discount the possibility that it was related to some of that stuff.

If the United States manages to re-elect Trump, who will dissolve NATO and hand Ukraine over to Genocidal invaders.....
It won't just be Europeans who are dying.

Even this far out, primary polls do have some predictive value.

Specifically, when candidates are polling above about 30 percent nationally, they have historically had a decent chance of becoming the nominee. That chance increases the higher their polling numbers are. On the flip side, though, candidates with polling below around 20 percent have been pretty unlikely to win, and those polling below 10 percent are usually doomed.

The question is... what do maga's believe will happen to America if Trump wins?
Answer.... maga's believe Trump will shit golden bricks out of his ass, maga's believe they will never pay taxes again because the IRS will go bye bye, maga's believe all of the taxes they have paid will be refunded, maga's believe that all Black's will go back to Africa, maga's believe that Hispanics will go back to Mexico (or wherever), maga's believe that Gays and Trans will just GO AWAY, and maga's believe that America will become white white white as white can be forever more.

And about that Trump Wall?
That Trump Wall will become twice as tall encompassing every foot of the entire country AND... be electrified!!!

And THAT is what maga's believe.

Those are all policy objectives, and they don’t really care about policy. Things will be good because they are in charge and that’s really the beginning and end of it.

Oh I don't call sending minorities back to where they came from, or originated from as policy. It is the maga dream. A dream they believe only Donald Trump can fulfill, and will fulfill as America's first full blown dictator.

Because people hate how well the economy is doing?

The economy is looking good on several metrics but prices are still high and real wages are lagging. This is what most people (the majority who don't have investments) see and feel.

At this moment in time, all those poll results mean to me is that the GOP is very good at loudly lying their asses off and the Democrats are really good at not rebuking those lies at their own peril.

Biden: Go back and strap yourselves in!
