I like Satriani quite a bit and can appreciate good guitar music. I don't know a ton of Yngwie's stuff but he seems insanely fast and plays some sort of "neo-classical?" type music. It's a smaller venue (like a bar/club scene) and tickets are $30 right now. You think it's worth it? Has anyone seen him before?

Live music by a guitar virtuoso in an intimate setting... I'd say go for it.

Sorry, maybe I made it confusing by throwing Satriani's name in there b/c he is a similar guitarist to Yngwie that I like to listen to. It is just Malmsteen at this concert, not G3 or Satch. Plus this place is a 21 and over bar/club so I can always just sit at my table and listen to him jam out while I sip some booze. It's only $30 I might have to go for it

I would already have paid my $30. He's kind of a dope of a person, but when he's on the guitar, he's amazing.

Vai and Satch kind of treat him like the little kid brother on the G3 tour, not because he's any less talented than them, but because he's kind of got that "blonde" air about him.

No. It's not they, it's him. Yngwie Malmsteen (while I can't stand his music) is one of the best, if not the best, metal / neoclassical guitarists ever. He's amazingly talented.

Actually, I just remembered that I payed $35 for my tickets to G3 this year. I would still pay the $30 for the good chance of meeting him, since its a small venue.

good player, bad musician. i wouldn't pay $30, but might pay $5.

You mean good musician, bad artist.

no he had it right. most "guitar buffs" say he plays sloppy making him a bad musician.

imo, it's well worth the money.
