The Tandy 5000 was one of the very few computers outside of the IBM PS/2 that used Micro Channel (MCA).
Other interesting x86 Tandys included the Tandy 2000 which sported the 80186, rarely used in anything else.
I once had a Tandy 1000SX, with a 7MHz 8088 and the beloved Tandy graphics and sound (more or less ripped from the PCjr). I wish I didn't throw it out last year.
Too bad Radio Shack sells Compaq now.

back then, you could do that in much less. Many x86 had under 640k.

Hey, this machine isn't bad for 89...
It looks like it could actually run Wolf3d quite well.
And don't forget the sequel to wolf3d also, spear of destiny.
EDIT:
Microsoft made something called OS/2 also?!?
The ad shows MS OS/2, is that just a nickname for windows or something?
Nevermind, figured out that this is just OS/2 back when both MS and IBM were co-opting on it.

There's a $100 of $8,500 coupon out there. Can't post the code here but makes this deal even hotter. All you need is a filler item like a box of single density floppy disks and you're all set.

Very cool, gotta like these systems. Makes me feel better about the EISA 486 I bought in 91 for $5500, and the Pentium Pro I bought in 95 for $3600 with monitor, with SCSI hardrives, etc.
