YMMV, I just got back from Sams Club in Rochester, NY where they had 75 packs of Maxell Music CD-Rs for $16.33 a pop. Noticing the made in Japan on the side, I grabbed a couple of spindles and sure enough they were Taiyo Yudens.

Not bad. 22 cents a disc for 32X Taiyo Yuden Music CD-Rs!

Enjoy!

None.

Did you mean to say that they have packs of 75 cdrs? I think that's what you mean if I work out the math. Just wasn't clear if you were trying to say that they have a ton of them or what. I'll have to send my sis to get.

Sorry about that. Yes, there are 75 discs per spindle.

For those who don't know, "Music CD-Rs" have a built in royalty that goes straight to the RIAA. On most stand-alone recording appliances, it says to "Only use certified "Music CD-Rs" in this product". *Harumph* I was always curious if standard CD-Rs would work in them... My roommate had a CD duplicator, but I never had a chance to play with it.

My brother-in-law has a non-pc cd recorder(Bet you thought is was only a creepy rumor that some things didn't have a pc connected to them.)

It doesn't work with a cd unless it's a "music cd".

It refueses to record to a regular blank cd.

Probably, you know, for our own protection.......

I just got back from sams here and they still have thes, they are indeed taiyo yudens. I can find som others a little cheaper here (like the philips at office depot) but for TY's I believe it's a good price.

I got avery textured half fold greeting card's there in the 50 packs for what i remember to be a decent price, compared to the small packs in other stores, but I don't remember what they cost as it's been a while. If you're not going to refill I noticed today that they have the canon branded BCI-3eBk pigment black carts in two packs for 21.+ It's really not a bad price because these carts are bigger and I think they retail for 15. each. I don't print a lot of thext, which is what this cart is for and since it's decent size I might not even refill it and get them there. One will probably last me for a very long time as I print mostly photo's and very little else. They show the other carts there for 9.+ online, but they didn't have them at our store. I refill those anyway, but for those that don't it's not a bad local price if they have them in their local stores.

Other than that I didn't really notice much else because the wife was with me and we were there for mostly grocery type stuff. We got a strawberry cream cheese bundt cake that was outstanding, very moist.:)

my brother-in-law's dj equipment only plays music cd-rs (so if you wanted him to play something...you would have to burn it on a music cd-r). my car also only takes music cd-r...which sucks.

anyways...i need some good quality cd-rs and these sound like them but how do you know these are taiyo yuden? i know for dvds you can use dvd identifier but how about cds?

thanks
