Been meaning to post this. Deal goes through 2013/10/31.
Woodmans (a brick & mortar "employee owned" supermarket chain in the Midwest) has 2 liter TEN** sodas on sale for $1.00 each.
They put out coupons hanging on the necks of the bottles for 55¢ off one, making the purchase 45¢ plus tax for a 2 liter bottle of soda.
The "catch" is that there is a limited number of coupons, which they replenish occasionally. Most I've seen is around 30 coupons for hundreds of bottles. There doesn't seem to be a purchase limit as I've purchased four bottles and used four coupons. On rare occasion there hasn't been a single coupon. Past coupons (been seeing coupons all Summer) were for lesser amounts, or something like $1 off 3.
**TEN sodas started with Dr Pepper TEN, which is 10 calories per serving (12oz?). These still use HFCS, along with synthetic sweeteners. 10 calories is less than 1/10 the typical calories of non-diet soda. The bit of HFCS is to make it taste more like normal soda and less like diet soda. I actually like Dr Pepper TEN over normal or diet versions. It tastes a bit like normal stuff, but without the icky "OMG my teeth are coated in sugar" feeling. Those who normally drink diet sodas know what I'm talking about. I actually had this idea years back when I first started drinking diet sodas. Glad to see that someone was listening to my thoughts.
The coupons omit mention of Dr Pepper TEN, but works fine at the register. The list of TEN sodas are:
Dr Pepper TEN
Canada Dry TEN (ginger ale)
RC Cola TEN
7up TEN
Sunkist TEN (orange soda)
A&W TEN (root beer)
As an added bonus, Woodmans has 12 ounce bottles of TEN sodas for 25¢/bottle, no limit. This has been going on all Summer as well. My local Woodmans are down to just 7up TEN and RC Cola TEN on these, but they had pretty much all flavors in the past.
