Yitzhak Rabin's Daughter Resigns from Israeli Government in Protest

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Dalia Rabin-Pelosoff, daughter of the assassinated Israeli leader who began a peace process with Palestinians, resigned her cabinet post Tuesday in protest at the army's reoccupation of Palestinian towns in the West Bank.

Rabin-Pelosoff, whose father Yitzhak Rabin struck interim peace deals with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in 1993, was named deputy defense minister in the broad coalition of right-wing Prime Minister Ariel Sharon last year.

An Israeli opposed to Rabin's peacemaking with the Palestinians killed him in 1995. Five years after the Oslo accords were signed, a Palestinian uprising erupted after talks on a final peace collapsed.

A senior Israeli political source told Reuters that Rabin-Pelosoff, a Labor Party member, was "unhappy with Sharon and said that if he wants to reoccupy the West Bank and to destroy the Palestinian Authority, he should do so without us."

actually, Sharon is worse to Israel than Arafat has ever been, as Arafat WANTS peace and Sharon never did, never will.. Rabin was a wise man, he saw what was happening and tried to fix it, Sharon is a war monger and he will fail... every time... the more strikes the Israelis do, the more suicide bombings... if you try to fight fire with fire, you will get burned...

Please link us where he's recently said that. He would like to drive sharon into the sea, that is for sure, but who outside israel and the jewish community doesn't want that. The problem is that arafat doesn't have control over hamas and others, which is a big issue, but he does want a settlement.

I am extremely dissapointed in her resignation over an issue that I feel is handled properly by Israelis. The simple fact is that the occupations do indeed work, and are honestly the only way to handle militants. Yassir Arafat can do quite a bit to stop Hamas, undermine their power, not give them time on national televison etc. Yet he doesn't jjsole.
As for when Arafat said to drive the jews into the sea, read some of the stuff he said when Israel had him surrounded at his HQ. Arafat is a lying dastardly prick. On a personal note, my father is close friends with Yitzhak Rabin's son(he's a programmer ), I would be curious as to what he has to say about it.

Yup, and if Sharon was surrounded by palestinians he would not say ONE evil word about them... right? I am so surprised at these stupid comments... he is surrounded by Isreaeli forces, if you were you wouldn't speak well of them either.. now would you...

Yeah, that is why i wrote it, not because Arafat actually has made agreements with two leaders where he had to stand back from what was rightfully theirs, but becaues i knew some idiot would respond to it and this is my chance to ridicule you...

Arafat has agreed to so many peace agreements that it is sad, he has actually tried, and if Rabin would have been allowed to live, the peace would have won...

Why don't you bite me. From my point of views, this is war. In war there is no innocence. Hell, when bombs start flying and US soldiers started to hunt those terriorists like animal, who in here thinks that they are somebody sons or husbands. If those suicide bombers stop killing Israelis for 6 months to a year, do you think Isrealis will shoot some missiles into some buildings during that time. My stance is this, you get what you sow.
