Iraqi Crowd Harasses Al-Jazeera Crew
  • "The angry locals accused the station of complicity with the previous regime (of Saddam) against the interests of the Iraqi people," the newscaster said.

No one was hurt and the crew managed to withdraw after community leaders intervened, the newscaster added.

However, the channel did not manage to cover the meeting...
Al-Jazeera Allegations
  • Documents have come to light which suggest three Al Jazeera employees in Baghdad were also working for Saddam Husseins regime. Al Jazeera deny any wrong doing...
What is the world coming to? :Q

Freedom to gather information at times means "getting into bed" with the source while not having negativity attached... Was not Saddam a source.. Was Osama not a source..
Them Southerners down there in Iraq... just gotta learn a thing or two about freedom... and that they may need Al Jazeera sooner than they think..

Wow, that's a damn good plan! I wonder why they deny it?

Iraq Infiltrated Al-Jazeera TV
  • Al-Jazeera spokesman Jihad Ballout told Reuters the network was unaware of "any member of al-Jazeera who is working for any foreign intelligence" organization.

Are the british going to ban them too, after they ban FOX news or before? Maybe they are already banned I don't know.

I didn't know you can get it over here (maybe you can). If people complain it will be investigated.

SkyTV carries Al Jazeera in this part of the world so I suspect it does in Britain as well. I tried watching it a couple times when we had our Sky satellite, but it just didn't do much for me since I don't speak or read Arabic!

I wouldnt waste my time. If you had been watching the morning in Paradise Square when the statue of Saddam was being brought down by the citizens you would not have seen any of it other than a spalsh of an American flag on the statue for a split second. They did not show one part of that until that flag was put there, in less than 30 seconds they had a statement out that it should have been an Iraqi flag. Did they show it was used as well, no, they kept the pic with the american flag on their site for almost a week and never mentioned the Iraqi flag was used. That morning they showed a small isolated firefight to the Arab world, while the rest of the world watched what was described as similar to the fall ofthe Berlin Wall, the majority of the Arab world never got to see Iraqi's celebrating in the streets. They switched RIGHT to the american flag shot though, so they were monitoring and watching, they just felt it was not newsworthy to show. WHY? Maybe they don't want the rest of the Arab world to see American's being cheered and welcomed. Sounds like a great unbiased source, really serves the true interests of it's people.
I totally understand ornery's position on alot of the issues now, hard to blame someone relying on bogus information.
