No, not opera, microsuck. They get so jealous of anyone elses innovations that they have to try and squash them underfoot.

I say they have a right to do it. If their operating systems were as bad as everyone says (yes MS-ME sucks balls) than why doesnt a better operating system become the majority OS of the people. Is it that you hate MS because they are the big "evil" corperation, or do you actually have any arguments or facts to back up your opinion.

I must admit this new Opera browser is much faster, sleeker, and more innovative than IE. Mouse gestures is awesome, the tab browsing is a must, and the status bar and bookmarks are much nicer.

Blah blah blah, Opera sucked ass when I tried it 2 years and again last year. I'm a web developer and until Opera 6, Netscape 4 was my greatest enemy.

I use Dreamweaver exclusively, so it's not the code, it's the browser.

I had to rewrite everyone of my site to include "fixes" for opera.

Because they're able to use their monopoly to keep other technologies in check.

In this case, because they have a large consumer base with MSN, they use it to leverage against a competing technology.

It would be one thing if Opera just didn't work with their page. It's another thing since they're sending a version to Opera, so faulty that even IE can't read it correctly.

Okay, did any of you MS fanboys actually READ the freaking link? Of course not, because if you did you would see proof it's NOT the code, but deliberate. It's all in there. And rather your heads are far enough up billy boys a$$ to see what he had for lunch isn't relevant, they ARE effectively an evil empire, using any tactic in the book to repress innovation and control every aspect possible of the computer world; and NOT for our benefit, but for theirs.

Standard Operating Procedure for Microsoft; as they themselves are completely unable to "innovate", they leverage and crush competition.

Welcome to the world of business, where people dont tip-toe in fields and sign hippie songs. You do know in the real world that to remain the top in business is to crush your compitition, so in that sense MS is justified. Weather you agree with me or not, my opinion is my opinion.

I wonder how many users out there do not change that. I know quite a few who don't. They never use MSN, but its still the home page.

Please understand, I'm not some innocent that doesn't understand that basically 90% of all major businessmen/women in our world are evil greedy worthless sons-a-goats that would sell their own mother for a cup of starbucks...

my purpose in this post, and in most posts I make, is merely to spread the knowledge of the evil, for those few who might not yet understand the depth of vileness we are up against. In that way I contribute to the eventual changes in the world by sowing the seeds of distrust and anger now.

Why don?t you just put a pair of panties on your head and a bandanna over your face and start your own riot. Maybe you will get some news coverage. :)

Phoenix rocks IE's pant's right off...

I haven't visited ONE page yet that hasn't been rendered right, it works perfectly, it is small it is slick, it is tabbed, it has skins, it has a popup blocker, it has java code restrictments you can set, it's available for xBSD, Linux, Windows and so on...

What more could you possibly ask for?

Oh, and screw msn.com...

It doesn't suprise me that MS is doing illegal and unethical things to crush the competition. Of course, our government doesn't give a sh!t, so MS will continue to be able to do all their illegal things, and the competition will just have to resort to trying to outdo and surpass them in every aspect possible (Linux may have done that on the technical side, but more work needs to be done on the UI side, IMHO). Once we surpass them, we just need to watch closely, to attempt to stop them from passing legislation making our products illegal.

Opera by default identifies itself as MSIE, perhaps to circumvent this problem, if it exists. I couldn't duplicate what they described in the article myself, so I'm not sure. I know for a fact that the Opera browser has problems displaying some pages properly, for no obvious reason.

Wow, one page doesn't render properly. Microsoft must be trying to squash Opera by not loading www.msn.com correctly. It's a huge conspiracy!
