Another post in my line of math problems I am trying to learn. Again, answers are the end result but NOT the thing i really want.
I would like a step by step of HOW to get to the end result. Lots of people have been kind enough to help out, for those who wish to thread crap, take it somewhere else.

I am trying to undestabnd graphing and frankly it isnt working very well. Here is what my practice problems are, any help would be welcome!

Ok i screwed that up - I forgot the graphs for some of the problems...

here is a link to them

For #2:

Slope = (Change in y-variable) / (Change in x-variable)

so: slope = (-9 - -6) / (-8 - -9) = (-3)/(1) = -3.

i'll do #1 for you:

1. Find the equation of the line passing through the point (3, 6) with the slope m = 4/3
A. y = (4/3)x - 3
B. y = (4/3)x + 2
C. y = 2x - 6
D. y = 4x + 2

those equations are in a standard form of y=ax+b where a is the slope. immediately c and d are eliminated
then just plug in values of x and y and see if that works. for a: 4-3 = 1 = y, but y must be 6 so a is eliminated. so b is the answer: confirm (4/3)*3+2 = 6 = y
