The yacht will be built in the shipyard of Civitavecchia, a port town north of Rome, by luxury shipbuilder Privilege Yard SpA, which said today that the couple has commissioned an 85-metre-long yacht for $US268 million ($A324.87 million).

Delivery is set for July 2009.

The passenger cabin will include two 300-square-metre apartments, plus two guest suites of 150 square metres each.

Other features include a swimming pool, a heliport, speedboats and a small submarine that will allow guests to explore the sea up to a depth of 300 metres.
I guess they can just buy some credits right....

I have no problem with people owning yachts etc, but don't preach at me over such crap

Just like when I get pissed about the "All right wingers are religious fundies" comments... Not all Hollywood liberals are environemtalists.

I don't see/hear much from Pitt or Jolie about the environment.

Gore? Hypocrite.
Travolta? Self admitted hypocrite.
Madonna? Hypocrite.

Brangilina? I dunno. Enjoy your boat.

Please. Have a little sympathy for the right. At the mention of Hollywood half of them come in their pants.

Of course it's not intellectual dishonest in any way to point fingers at people's houses and people's boats as if they were the prime culprits in C02 emissions and/or GW. Of course we know they're not.

C02 emissions by source in CA

In California, for example, Residential sources of greenhouse gases are around 5% of the overall emissions. The biggest offenders are transportation (41%), Industrial (23%) and Electricity (20%).

Clearly a boat isn't being used as a primary source of transportation and thus it's a drop in a bucket in terms of C02 emissions.

But for the most part, the more money you have, the more you consume, and the more your CO2 emmisons you cause. Like it or not, it's true.

I have never understood the right's obsession with what Hollywood thinks.

I doubt anyone else cares.

I guess it's similar to liberals obsession with what Falwell and Robertson thinks. They think they can smear the other side with it, even though hardly anybody listens to them.

It's what happens when your argument sucks. Can't think of an actual defense? Change the topic!
