yet another "would you eat it" thread...

so, I brought some leftover Chinese food to work today. chicken fried rice... I ordered it last night, so it's not that old or anything, but when I got to work today, I discovered that our office fridge is broken and so, it's been sitting on my desk all day (office is currently reading 71F).

I can't decide if I should just eat it and hope for the best or err on the side of caution and toss it (and go pick up a slice of pizza or something)

If chinese food isn't gone with in 2 hours of when it was 1st cooked - I do not eat it.

But, that's just crazy old me not wanting to get explosive diahrea.

You'll be fine. I'd worry if the chicken weren't cooked properly to begin with, but if you think it's cooked through there's no problem.

Nearly every day, I remove a tupperware of leftovers or whatever from the refrigerator in the morning and stick it in my backpack. I do not use a refrigerator or work, since I bounce between sites.

I eat lunch 4-5 hours later, and it's usually still cold. (Heck, if I store it at the bottom of the fridge, it'll sometimes still have ice in it 4-5 hours later.)

I'm not dead yet. Microwaving presumably kills any harmful bacteria, though.

I bet you can feed it to a child with a compromised immune system and he'd be fine.

4 hours at room temp should be fine, since it was already at a cooler temp when you brought it in, so it's not like it was at room temp for the full 4 hours.

That said, I wouldn't eat it, but that is because I can't stand leftover chinese food. It is one food tastes so much different than when you first buy it which scares me.

Toss it... been having exploding diarrhea all day from all you can eat sushi two nights ago... not fun peeing out your ass as already mentioned 🙂

On a good note I've lost 5 pounds hahaha
