Currently rocking a 32GB Vertex with v1.6 firmware. It is (apparently) about to die.
Has anybody had any experience with the SMART reporting of SSDs? Are they accurate? I've read a few forum posts where the drive hits 0 and just restarts over at 100%. But I've never been able to get any definitive answers from anybody.
Provided this drive is about to die, I will need another. Here's my situation:
1: p45 chipset (SATA II) but I will be purchasing a p67/p77 (i.e SATA III) motherboard in the next year.
2: I only really use the computer for browsing the internet and gaming.
3: I only use 85GB-100GB of space. I would feel more comfortable with 160GB, but I will do fine with a 120GB/128GB drive.
As far as I can tell, the 128GB C300, the 128GB m4, 120GB 320, 160GB 320 are probably what I'm looking for.
How do they compare in the tasks that I would use it for? The m4 128GB has been rumored to be released at $210, which is $25 cheaper and a little bit faster than the C300. The 320s are definitely "meh" in the write department.
So, the reason why you clicked on my thread: What SSD is right for me?
Thanks in advance
