Hoping to keep shipping low, the order is placed with just one vendor. Would it be a better idea to axe the monitor and have the guy buy one locally, or shop for a better one with free shipping?

No seriously, since you're a member of the forums here, means that you're exposed to good hardware info, which means that you should be able to make a educated decision about hardware without having to worry about other poeple's judgements. It's up to you, obviously you think the system is good, I know it's good and I didn't even look at it ... Anandtechers are good hardware shoppers, even though we don't all agree, there isn't just ONE good setup, know what I mean?
